Parking Services

Parking Services provides a full range of parking and transportation-related services on all University campuses. We serve faculty and staff, students, and visitors in their day-to-day parking needs, as well as during special events.

A portion of parking revenues directly fund the University's sustainable transportation initiatives.

Effective June 1, 2017 hours for visitor parking will be adjusted as follows:

Day 6:00am to 6:00pm
Evening 6:00pm to 6:00am

Permit holders will not be affected; parking restrictions for permit holders will remain the same.

Parking Services has partnered with HonkMobile to bring Park & Pay to your phone. Park in a campus lot and pay directly from the HonkMobile app with your credit card or PayPal. Get notifications when your time is expiring and extend from the app without returning to your vehicle. More Info >>

Please be advised that as of April 1, 2017, a slight increase in visitor parking rates has been implemented. You can view current parking rates here or on the U-PARK kiosk dispensers.

In an effort to streamline and modernize the delivery of our services, University of Alberta Parking Services has recently implemented pay-by-plate and mobile pay, and has upcoming plans for virtual permitting and camera enforcement.

Typical camera enforcement requires license plate information to be visible to drive-by cameras. As a result of the Province of Alberta's single plate requirement, it was deemed necessary to prohibit vehicles from backing into stalls. Parking Services is pleased to announce that we have been successful in finding an alternate solution and commencing immediately, the prohibition from backing into stalls will be lifted.

University of Alberta Parking Services is committed to technologically relevant service delivery and will continue moving forward in its efforts toward this goal.

University of Alberta Parking Services and Energy Management are working together to implement a campus-wide parking structure lighting upgrade. LED lights and motion sensors have been installed in the Southfield Carpark to optimize the lighting and reduce energy use. Stadium Carpark is currently undergoing a similar upgrade, with work beginning at Timms/Telus Carpark in the near future. This lighting upgrade greatly reduces energy consumption, reducing utility costs and the overall carbon footprint of UAlberta. This initiative is part of a much larger $35M energy management program, currently in its third year of execution.
