Parking Services has partnered with Chargepoint
to provide an Electric Vehicle Charging Station on the street level of Stadium Carpark. You will need to sign up
for a Chargepoint account in order to charge your EV. Follow the instructions on the Chargepoint website
to get started.
As this is a pilot project, in order to improve your experience and service delivery, Parking Services is seeking your input. If you use the Chargepoint Charging station, we would appreciate your feedback on your experience. You can complete a brief survey here.
- The EV stalls are clearly marked and are to be used ONLY by Electric Vehicles while charging
(maximum 4 hours).
- EV Stall availability is on a first come, first served basis, and can be checked using the Chargepoint app or website map.
- Charge fee is a modest $0.25/kW
- Regular Stadium Carpark parking rates apply. Visitors pay the regular daily rate, but valid University of Alberta Parking Services permits from any of our locations will be honoured while charging.
The car sharing model allows people to rent cars for short periods of time. It makes occasional use of a vehicle affordable, while providing an incentive to minimize driving and rely on alternative travel options as much as possible.
Pogo is a new carsharing service that gives members 24/7 access to a pool of vehicles located within a defined, central Zone in Edmonton. Use these vehicles to commute, run errands, head out for a night with friends—you decide! You only pay for the exact amount of time you use the vehicle. Gas, insurance, and parking are all included, and one-way trips are allowed.
The University of Alberta has an agreement with Pogo to allow members to park Pogo vehicles in select campus parking lots for no additional charge. And for a limited time, UAlberta staff and students are eligible for free membership. For more information on the program, or to sign-up, visit the Pogo CarShare website.
A carpool is defined as three or more University of Alberta staff or students, residing at different addresses, who choose to drive together as their regular means of commuting to the University.
Carpool stalls offer subscribers premium location parking stalls in high-demand facilities. Current carpool parking locations are in the Jubilee Carpark adjacent to the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy at the heart of North Campus, in Lot E next to the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science on Saskatchewan Drive, and on Level 5 of the Windsor Carpark off 116 Street with access to the ICE building. Carpool subscribers share the cost of the permit among the members of the carpool.
All members of the carpool, as well as all vehicles that may be used in the carpool, must be registered with Parking Services (email@example.com). Carpool members will be assigned one carpool permit to share. The permit is transferable among any vehicles registered in association with the carpool. Only one registered vehicle may be parked at any given time with the carpool permit. Any additional vehicle(s) parked must display a valid parking permit.
You may find your own carpool partners and register the carpool at Parking Services. Free matching services are also available through CarpoolWorld.
Parking Operations will arrange to split the cost of the carpool permit equally among the members and collect it through any currently accepted means of payment (payroll deduction, monthly credit card, or debit, if paying in full). If the carpool dissolves for any reason during the year, you must inform Parking Operations within two weeks. The members are then free to purchase parking permits through the normal procedures.
UAlberta offers free bicycle parking at outdoor bike racks strategically located across the campus. For cyclists who would like added security for their bicycle, there are also three covered and secured bike parking facilities available:
- Street level in Education CarPark (NW Corner)
- Street level in Stadium Carpark (SE Corner)
- Street level beneath the pedway between Cameron Library and CAB
Use of these bike cages requires registration and purchase of a monthly or yearly permit ($10/month) to gain access. Visit Parking Services at Lister Centre with photo ID to purchase a permit, or contact us
for more information.
